RC Gupta Award

Dr R C Gupta is the Professor and Head of Department, and the chief of Oculoplastics, Orbit & Paediatric Ophthalmology at the GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, India. He was trained at Regional Institute of Ophthalmology & MLN Medical College, Allahabad. A prolific speaker, Dr Gupta has presented over 50 presentations at Various International, National & Regional Conferences and Workshops mainly on Oculoplastics and Orbit. He also has 35 Publications in International, National and Regional Journals. The R C Gupta award is given to the Best Scientific Poster in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology

The guidelines for the award are as follows:

  1. Award will be given for the Best Scientific Poster in any field of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery and related Oncology and Pathology
  2. Any ratified member of OPAI will be eligible for the award
  3. The award will be given to the presenting author
  4. The award will be presented once a year
  5. The award will be given for the work done in India
  6. The award will carry a Certificate and a Medal
  7. The Certificate shall mention the list of co-authors
  8. The award will not be given to the same person twice

The Oculoplastics Association of India (OPAI) is dedicated to forwarding the cause of oculoplastics across the country. Founded in 1987, OPAI now has over 500 members who are dedicated to oculofacial surgery and disorders of the orbit, eyelids, eye and the lacrimal system. In the past three decades, Ophthalmic plastic surgery has earned its special identity in Indian ophthalmology. The skilled oculoplastic surgeons of the yesteryears nurtured their interest and spread the art to others. Today, this elite group has taken the shape of a healthy organization, the Oculopastics Association of India.
